Objective – To descale the vessel's cargo holds to USDA/NCB grain standards for the vessel’s next employment which was to load a sensitive cargo of rice!

Description – Delta Marine and Environmental provided man lifts utilizing over 30 employees working in 12hr shifts (around the clock) for 4.5 days straight scaling rust/paint scale from every inch of the cargo holds. In all an estimated 13 tons of rust was removed from the bulk heads (upper and lower), tank tops, and overheads and wing tanks. Interchanging shifts and supplies were maintained for expeditious dispatch of launch costs. During the operation DMES personnel updated the customer multiple times daily on the ship's progress as well as provided a financial picture to maintain customer constant awareness of the costs involved.

Result – We again successfully mobilized and demobilized all equipment and personnel safely to and from the vessel in accordance with our projected timetable, ultimately achieving our goal of USDA/NCB passes ready to load so that the vessel tendered prior to its cancellation window.
